Our demand response and paratransit service may also be affected by inclement weather. Tune into local news broadcasts for announcements of service delays, we can be found on TV through WIBW and KSNT , and on the radio with KMAN and KJCK . Track your KCATA bus on the Route page or on the app Transit . Safe Travel Tips Use caution getting on and off buses, and walking to the stop during severe weather . In winter, thawing and refreezing may occur; even if the pavement looks clear, it may be icy. Listen to your driver. They have been prepared to safely handle passengers during severe weather conditions and are aware of nearby shelters in the event of a needed evacuation (i.e. tornado warnings). Dress for the weather. Carry a cellphone. The most common fare is the One Day fare which allows you to ride any Fixed Route during one service day for $2.00. Manhattan/Ogden and Junction City have fixed routes which operate on a set schedule and in set locations. Here is how to read the brochure: When the bus arrives On all brochures, the time the bus arrives is indicated as :XX. As an example from the graphic below, the first bus of the day would arrive at Walmart at 6:52 a.m. and arrive every hour around the :52 minute of the hour until the last bus heading that direction would arrive at Walmart at 5:52 p.m. The bus goes both directions so please pay attention to the arrows. In this example, the bus would arrive at :49 every hour at Walmart heading the opposite direction. Transfer Stops Please refer to the bus route map to view bus stops served by multiple bus routes. Children of any age can ride the ATA Bus! There are some rules and requirements that must be met for children so please go to this page (javascript:void(0))in order to have the safest and easiest ride! Can my pet come on the bus? For policy purposes, animals are considered either service animals or pets. Service animals will be transported with their owners without restriction or extra cost. Service animals must be supervised and the owner/handler must retain full control of the animal at all times. Owners/handlers are responsible for cleanup of any waste or litter caused by the service animal and are liable for any damages the animals cause. Pets may be transported with their owners if the pets are secured in an enclosed container and if they can be fit into the schedule. Pets have the lowest priority for transportation. Pets requiring emergency veterinary assistance will not be transported. An ill service animal is treated as a pet in this respect: such animals are not performing their service function. What if I leave something on the bus? Is there a lost and found? ATA Bus is not responsible for any lost personal items. Be sure to take all personal items with you when exiting the vehicle. If the driver recovers lost property from the vehicle it is stowed away in a locked room at the ATA Bus Facility located at 5815 Marlatt Ave, Manhattan, KS 66503. To best serve our customers, those wishing to purchase passes, complete paperwork, and/or do business, will be allowed to visit the building on Wednesdays during working hours (8:00 am - 5:00 pm). During no other time of the week should visitors attempt to visit the building. If planning to visit on Wednesday, please pay close attention to all signage indicating where to enter the parking lot, where to park your vehicle, and how to enter the building. You can also view the images below to help better understand how to access the facility during that time. If you visit the building, please expect some time for us to answer the door due to construction. DO NOT attempt to walk around the facility or enter the facility through any other means, other than the designated door. If you are visiting during open hours and have been at the door for more than three (3) minutes, please return to your vehicle and call the office number to let them know you are here (785-537-6345). The building closure and open hours are enforced to maintain the safety of our employees and visitors and will be in place as long as the construction is occurring.
