Disadvantaged Business Enterprise

As a condition of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding, ATA Bus is required to adopt a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. The Department of Transportation’s DBE program was created to ensure nondiscrimination in the award and administration of DOT-assisted contracts and to assist in the development of minority and women-owned small businesses so that they can compete successfully in the marketplace outside the DBE program.

DBE Goal Available for Public Comment

The Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency has established an overall race-neutral goal of 1.16% for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation on federally-assisted programs in Federal Fiscal Years 2023, 2024, and 2025.

The proposed goal was established in accordance with regulations of the US Department of Transportation (DOT), 49 CFR Part 26, as amended. The proposed goal and its rationale are available for inspection during normal business hours, at Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency, 5815 Marlatt Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas, 66503, or by clicking the link below.

Comments pertaining to the goal will be accepted for thirty (30) days, starting July 1, 2023.
